Target Audience
This course is tailored for professionals working in early years settings, such as nurseries, day centres, after-school clubs, and crèches. Participants will gain essential skills and knowledge to effectively respond to emergencies in these environments.
It is essential for these settings to maintain an adequate number of staff holding a ‘2-day’ qualification, such as the QNUK Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid (RQF).
Qualification Purpose
This qualification equips learners with the knowledge and skills necessary for first aiders in early years environments. Participants will develop a comprehensive understanding of emergency paediatric first aid, as outlined by the Department for Education in September 2016.
Qualification Objective
This qualification certifies that an individual is capable of undertaking a specific role within the workplace, providing assurance to employers regarding their competence in emergency paediatric first aid.
Prerequisites
This level 3 paediatric first aid course is specifically designed for individuals aged 16 and over who are prepared to assume the responsibilities associated with being an emergency paediatric first aider.
It is strongly recommended that candidates possess a minimum of Level 2 literacy and numeracy skills, or an equivalent qualification, to ensure they can comprehend and apply the course material effectively.
Participants will be required to demonstrate first aid procedures in a practical environment, including performing CPR on a casualty positioned on the floor. Therefore, it is essential that they are physically capable of executing these tasks. There are no additional prerequisites for this qualification.
